When we’re not surfing, many of us are at the soccer field on Sundays. . .

Fútbol is a popular sport in Costa Rica, and Nosara is no exception. Sundays are big soccer days and you can find several games in the area. People of all ages come out to watch, cheer, drink beer, and hang loose.

The official local team of Nosara, Finca Austria, has been giving spectators a good show with a string of wins. They have advanced to the top four teams in their division and this Sunday will play with home field advantage against Atlético Junior from Hatillo Ocho, after beating them 2-1 last week in San Jose. If Finca Austria wins this Sunday, they will advance to to the finals. The ultimate champion of the semi-finals will advance to the Segunda Division de Futbol Nacional.

And, it’s on to the finals for Finca Austria. ¡Vamos Nosara!
